"I can't come to terms with the fact that my friend Stanisław Soyka has passed away. For years we shared music, the stage, and life. His voice and heart were unique, and our friendship priceless. Staszek, you will remain with me forever. Thank you for every sound, every smile, and every moment. Rest in peace," wrote composer and conductor Krzesimir Dębski on Instagram.
Kayah also said goodbye to Sojka and revealed the content of their last conversation.
"Staszek, a few hours ago I asked you: 'What about tolerance?' You replied: 'Kasia... there is none.' If only I knew that this would be our last conversation. I won't write anything more intelligent today. See you soon," she confessed in a post published on the website.
"Goodbye, Stasinek! I loved you like a younger brother, and you always loved me with tenderness, always with love. That's why you wrote such beautiful music to my poem 'Keep an eye on me' and sang it so well that I always cried inside. Today I'm crying because I know you're singing about yourself. I'm listening to it online. You are, you always will be," Jacek Cygan wrote tenderly.
Andrzej Krzywy also paid tribute to the legend of the Polish stage.
"One of the greatest, a wonderful musician and person has passed away. The voice of my generation. We were very fond of each other since the mid-1980s. I was at dozens of his concerts, from Sfora, through the Soyka/Yanina duo, and his individual recitals. We also performed a duet on the song 'Zostańmy sami' on De Mono's second album. The late, wonderful Staszek Soyka, gifted with a unique, outstanding voice," said the leader of the band De Mono.
Music producer, singer and rapper Łukasz Rostkowski, performing under the pseudonym LUC, also shared his memories of the deceased artist.
"When I was 16, I was sitting in an old tent at a scout camp. It was raining, I was bored, and then suddenly my friend played Stanisław Sojka's "Tolerance" on the guitar. Like a bolt from the blue, in one second something was born within me. (…) My whole adventure with music began with Tolerance. (…) Staszek, thank you for waking me up, for your great talent, but above all, for your big heart, human warmth and cordiality that could embrace the sun," the musician wrote on Instagram.
Polish cinema stars also said goodbye to the famous singer.
"For God's sake! Stasiu! Thank you! Each of your songs is a sea of memories. Too little, too short. Great sorrow. Great! And very sad," emphasized Małgorzata Kożuchowska .
"Wise, warm. Brilliant. Authentic. When he sang, played, composed, improvised, he was Music. Perfect, outstanding, unique. Anyone who was lucky enough to spend some time with him, talk, listen, sing, eat something good and drink with him knows what a wonderful companion he could be. He was simply a pleasure to listen to, to the point of exhaustion (…). The music flows and it's not the end. I won't say thank you, because we will continue to listen to you and you will touch our hearts again and again," Paweł Deląg confessed on Instagram.
